Free Text Sorter
This text sorter orders any list, keywords, names, stock codes, alphabetically A–Z or Z–A, numerically, or by line length. It is designed for tidying exports before analysis, ordering directories, and preparing clean inputs for other tools. Paste one item per line; nothing is uploaded.
How it works
Alphabetical modes use locale-aware comparison, so capitals and accented characters order naturally unless case-sensitive is ticked. Numeric mode compares leading numbers by value (2 before 10). Length mode orders by character count. Reverse flips the lines exactly as they stand.
Example
| Input | A to Z | Numeric |
|---|---|---|
| 10 2 apple | 10 2 apple | 2 10 apple |
Frequently asked questions
How do I sort a list alphabetically?
Paste one item per line, choose A to Z and press Sort. Comparison is locale-aware so capitals order naturally.
Can I sort numbers correctly?
Yes. Tick Numeric sort so 2 orders before 10, instead of alphabetical order where 10 comes first.
Can I reverse the order?
Yes. Choose Z to A to flip any sort, or Reverse to flip the current order exactly.
Does sorting remove duplicates?
No. Sorting only reorders. Use the Duplicate Remover first for a clean unique list.
Is my list uploaded?
No. Sorting happens locally in your browser.
